Mobile Apps

ByteToken customer mobile apps make it easy for your passengers to buy & use tickets, check system schedules, view maps and manage their account. Tickets can be held in the passengers’ cloud-based account or stored on their device where they'll be useable without WiFi or data coverage. If you have already invested in an existing mobile app you can license our technology and create your own custom implementation of mobile ticketing.

As an operator you can choose between many types of mobile ticket validation options such as, visual, 2D barcode, Bluetooth LE or NFC. The fastest route to deploy and start accepting mobile tickets is with our V3 (visually validated) app that requires no additional hardware and has a number of patented security features.

Ticket Validators

Beyond visual ticket validation, we offer two additional hardware systems for ticket validation, tracking and fare management for transport operators requiring higher security or automation.

Our handheld validator (HHV) lets the inspector quickly scan 2D-barcode, near field or smartcard tickets. The HHV can also track fare evaders and soon will offer on-board ticket purchasing. Additionally, we have a great deal of experience installing fare gate & on-board hardware solutions that seamlessly integrate into our back office system. Our strong partnerships with cutting edge transit hardware providers allow us to craft a completely modern and future proof system for your ridership.

Marketplace

The ByteToken Marketplace lets users buy tickets on the web, manage their account and receive system notifications outside of the mobile apps.

Once bought online, passengers will have instant access to their tickets on their smartphones.

Merchant Back Office

ByteToken Merchant Back Office is a powerful web-based tool for managing your mobile ticketing system. Generate reports on ticket usage, transactions, and reconciliation. Create and edit tickets, manage GTFS data or event dates & times, make custom product groups and push notifications to users.

Offer special ticket pricing by organization, bundle partner products with your tickets, and reconcile financials easily. Perform full customer support by crediting tickets to user accounts, generating refunds, resetting user passwords, viewing past orders and logging customer interactions.

ByteToken is a UK-based, wholly owned subsidiary of Bytemark, Inc. Our team has worked since 2011 to deliver a secure mobile ticketing platform for transit, tourism, and events.

Our engineers, developers, and business professionals are dedicated to building an easy-to-use mobile ticketing system that can be implemented with little to no infrastructure investment. Our suite of smartphone apps, web marketplace, point-of-sale plugins, and open APIs help us provide an integrated mobile commerce experience.

Our parent company launched the first mobile ticketing application for a major U.S. transit agency with the release of the New York Waterway app in January 2012.
